As of November 1, 2012, UnitedHealthcare (UHC) will no
longer be a BadgerCare Plus HMO for Standard and Benchmark Plan members
who live in these counties:
-
Kenosha
-
Milwaukee
-
Ozaukee
-
Racine
-
Washington
-
Waukesha
Please keep in mind, your enrollment in
BadgerCare Plus is not ending. You will still be able to get BadgerCare
Plus covered services from any BadgerCare Plus provider.
This does not affect any BadgerCare Plus Standard or
Benchmark Plan members in any
county not listed or any BadgerCare Plus Core Plan or
SSI Managed Care members in the state.
How will this affect me?
As of November 1, 2012, if you are enrolled in the
BadgerCare Plus Standard or Benchmark Plan and you live in one of the
counties listed, you will no longer get your health care services
through UHC. If you have not selected a new HMO, you can go to any
provider that accepts the ForwardHealth card.
I have an approved prior authorization for services
with UHC. What will happen to that approval?
If the BadgerCare Plus program requires a prior
authorization for a service and you already have a prior authorization
from UHC for that service, the BadgerCare Plus program will accept that
approval.
When will I be able to enroll in a different BadgerCare
Plus HMO?
You will get an enrollment packet in the mail in the
near future. This
packet will tell you which HMOs are in your area and how to enroll. If
you do not choose an HMO at that time, you will be assigned to an HMO by BadgerCare Plus.
Do I have to wait until I get my Enrollment Packet to
choose an HMO?
No. You can choose an HMO now. To
choose now, contact the HMO Enrollment Specialist at 1-800-291-2002 and
ask them to help you.
Will I be able to keep seeing the same health care
providers?
Yes. You can go to any provider that accepts the
ForwardHealth card. You can also contact Member
Services at 1-800-362-3002 to see if your provider is a BadgerCare Plus
provider.
